To sit alongside William Morris Palette we have designed a range of 4 designs called William Morris Cats. William Morris married in Oxford in1859 and having bought a plot of land in Kent proceeded to build Red House where his wife Jane gave birth to 2 daughters. While looking at photos of this beautiful house and garden, which soon became the social centre of an influential artistic and literary group, I like to imagine the life that was lived there. Inspired by this we have designed William Morris Cats. Surrounded by the images of leaves and flowers that Morris loved to use, we have introduced a band of playful cats and kittens to harmonise and bring together two of our favourite themes. These 4 designs work with the William Morris Palette to create a fun range of designs that add interest and diversity to any quilt.
